In the Business world, Investopedia says Inventory represents a company’s most important asset because the turnover of inventory represents one of the primary sources of revenue generation.
In the Spiritual world, it is my belief that Mental Inventory is one of Life’s important assets. What do I mean by Mental Inventory? Glad you asked! Mental Inventory is things you have experienced in Life that Jesus has brought you through. Things such as heartbreak, depression, financial hardship, sickness and any other Life struggles. One may ask why would I check inventory such as these? It’s quite simple, because Jesus bought you through it to remind you that he will never leave you nor forsake you. These types of Mental Inventories can also provide spiritual revenue. For example, I went toe to toe with cancer in the early 2000s. Like most that fought cancer I asked God, why? It wasn’t until recently that I think I figured it out. I have a team member that I manage that is going through cancer treatment. He lets me know how everything is going and I can provide a positive outlook for his situation which uplifts his spirit. Spiritual Revenue Generated!
Checking Mental Inventory reminds me of Jesus talking with his disciples in Mark 8:14-21. Jesus warned his disciples to beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod. The disciples then started arguing with each other because they hadn’t bought any food. Jesus then went on to remind them of when he fed 5000 people with five loaves of bread and the 4000 people with seven loaves of bread. In verse 18 Jesus said something that should resonate with us all, “Don’t you remember anything at all?” Remembering or checking inventory, as I like to say, will help you get through anything Life throws your way.
Jesus will help you through the Storm you are in, the Storm you just came out of or the Storm you are about to enter!
Lord, thank you for everyone reading this message. Lord, remind us all of everything you have brought us through, to give us the courage to face any obstacle that comes our way. Lord, we give you all the Praise. Amen.
